Apple promises to fix annoying iPhone 8 ‘crackling’ issue
Apple says that it is working to fix the static-like “crackling” sound that some iPhone 8 users are hearing while calling and/or listening to music.
Apparently, the problem stems from a software issue not any hardware case, affecting the earpiece, that can easily be corrected by a forthcoming update.
“We are aware of the issue which is affecting customers in a small number of cases,” an Apple spokesperson told The Verge. “Our team is at work on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming software release.”
Apple realized the issue after frustrated users began calling Apple directly and posting the problem over social media. There doesn’t seem to be any link between locations or carriers, as people have experienced the static sound across the globe.
While it’s not clear when Apple will offer the “crackling” iPhone 8 update, it’s indicative for the company to rectify these mild issues after the release of a new product. This could be done via a new iOS update, of which Apple just released its first iOS 11 update, iOS 11.1, a few days ago. So if you’re experiencing the crackling problem, hang in there! Help is on the way; you Apple fans! xD
